Muscle Oxygen Monitor
Muscle oxygen monitoring works by using light. The device is placed on your skin, usually on a large muscle like your thigh or arm. It shines a safe light into your muscle to see how much oxygen is present. This method is called Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS). The light goes through your skin and bounces back. Based on how the light changes, the monitor can tell how much oxygen is in your muscle. This information is shown on a screen or app in real time. You can see your muscle oxygen levels before, during, and after exercise.
