This is a perfect model if you have an iPhone and like recording time-lapse or videos from overhead. Which is something I do somewhat frequently to record my process on a project or to take product shots. Beam arms for iPhones are kinda hard to find and expensive. This one cost about 4 dollars including filament, 3/4″ inch dowel and 1/4″ nuts. Super easy and cheap. And it works like a charm!

Z-Ultrat or Z-Abs. I've tested both and they both work just fine.

Extra items:

4 1/4" hex nuts
2 1/4" thumb screws
1 3/4" wooden dowel
1 Tripod

Heat set in 1/4" nuts into the hex holes using a soldering iron*
These 1/4" hex nuts will work for adding both 1/4" adjustment thumbscrews AND work for adding the tripod mount bracket. (almost all tripod brackets use a 1/4" screw.)
Screw in the 1/4" thumbscrews which you tighten and loosen when you want to make adjustments.
