Google Local Guides are those who provide Google Maps with information. The Google Local Guide initiative uses a point system to reward those who assist in data collection, with varying levels of reward and incentives. A Local Guide review for a service or place is shown more clearly on Google Maps. By giving ratings and reviews, photographs, adding a new place, upgrading an existing one, answering queries, and double-checking data, Google Local Guides assist to keep Google Maps more accurate and useful.
