What Factors Influence Kratom Alkaloid Content?
Good kratom means a lot of alkaloids, so how can a farmer boost the alkaloid content of their crops? It's a bit of a mystery, and nature will always throw you for a loop.
Nonetheless, several factors have been shown to influence total alkaloid yield.
It is known that the following factors influence alkaloid content:
• Soil conditions: Alkaloid content has been shown to be affected by nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and calcium levels in soil. Nitrogen appears to be a "alkaloid booster" in particular.
• Temperature: The optimal growth temperature for each plant varies. Kratom prefers the heat of its native Southeast Asia, and its alkaloid content reacts favourably to heat.
• Precipitation: Too much water can be harmful to crops, and alkaloid content can suffer as well! Rainfall should be avoided because it can wash developing alkaloids out of the plant.
