Disinfection is the destruction of microorganisms outside of a living organism. If the disease is spread through direct contact with an infected organism or through a carrier, disinfection should be carried out in conjunction with methods for controlling those carriers. Sometimes, disinfection should be planned in conjunction with indoor rodent and insect control.
